“If you bring forth what is inside of you,
What you bring forth will save you.
If you do not bring forth what is inside of you,
What is inside of you will destroy.”
— Jesus Christ
When I HAVE to have a label, I call myself a colorist. I truly love color. It is healing to work with color in meditation, art, painting, clothing, our environment, nature, everywhere and in everything. When painting I create with color, without preconceived forms or objects. Hues become a vessel through which the Spiritual world reveals beauty. An important goal for me as an artist is to connect to nature and to the Spiritual World and bring down, manifest, that which is asking to be born.
To further expand my art through continued spiritual scientific research and experimentation, I work with the ideas of prominent European Artist Liane Collot d’Herbois (1907-1999), whether in veil painting or in using mixed media (click Generative Systems below on the navigation bar), to develop new pathways for creativity. Through the use of color, form, contemplative verse, watercolor, photography, and astrology, I’m weaving together light, color, and darkness and the WORD. I continue to reflect objective principles in nature, as well as in us, as we are human beings who are part of the greater whole. This allows for the work to be a healing force for myself and others. I strive for my work to be of higher quality, become more enriching, and to reach a more universal audience.
In my work as a professional Painting Therapist, I use the specific therapeutic methods developed by Liane Collot d’Herbois. Her work follows the universal laws of Light, Darkness, and Color and her research reveals how the development of human consciousness through the ages or epochs is mirrored in the development of the child growing into adulthood. Based upon the scientific works of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and further developed by scientific research of Rudolf Steiner, these inherent properties are part of us as human beings.
Goethe stated that “…color is the dance between Light and Darkness…”
This movement between light and darkness corresponds to human consciousness in his/her strife to balance the three-fold nature of thinking, feeling, and willing. Light, which is in our thinking, must penetrate and enter into the darkness of our unconscious will. Using exercises in charcoal (light and darkness) facilitates focused and sequential thinking and awakens healthy metabolic functioning, among other things. Color harmonizes our feeling life and weaves together our thinking, feeling and will.
Color is always in movement and change. Change is the constant of the universe. For example, when people get stuck in their thinking, they can become hard and brittle physically. Certain colors can loosen this hardening. Applying these principles of light, darkness, and color through the healing arts restores health. Balance is re-established when the three functions of the human being are in harmony.
Further goals are to establish a non-profit organization to further the arts in education and the healing arts. More specifically, I am interested in furthering the artistic and therapeutic work of Liane Collot d’Herbois, here in the United States, and internationally. Those interested in helping with this, please do contact me. Thank you for your interest and support. We are all here to help each other.
