bent by the wind and pricked by thorns,
yet has its heart turned upwards."

VEIL PAINTINGS
These watercolors are veil paintings done in the Collot method following the laws of Light, Color, and Darkness. These paintings
start with large light washes, each wash or "veil" is allowed to dry before the next veil is applied. Slowly the
intensity of color increases as the veils get smaller and smaller. With veil paintings, larger background spaces are left
soft and more detail with harder edges are brought in towards the end. It is time consuming, yet very meditative. There may
be a theme though no premeditated image is thought out. Therefore, one "sees" the image or form "coming out
of the color". This process is one whereby you are connecting to your angel and the Spiritual world. By the time a veil
painting is finished, there could be between 60 and 400+ veils, depending on the subject matter and detail.

WET-IN-WET WATERCOLORS
These paintings are done in the wet-in-wet method of watercolor painting where the fine artists' watercolor paper is wet first,
then painted on. Unlike veil painting, one must keep the painting wet all over while working on it. It becomes problematic
as is starts to dry, unless you want the sharp lines. As with veil paintings, larger background spaces are left soft and more
detail with harder edges are brought in towards the end.
